Reacting to news of Renishaw’s purchase of the former Bosch site, Plaid Cymru AM for South Wales Central Leanne Wood said: “This news is to be cautiously welcomed for the many hundreds of workers who have faced an uncertain future since Bosch made their devastating announcement to turn their back on Wales last year.
“We have no information yet as to the number of jobs that will be created or whether any Bosch employees can be transferred over to Renishaw, but the highly skilled and motivated workforce left behind by Bosch will no doubt be attractive to any new employer.
“It would make sense for Renishaw to look favourably upon these skilled former Bosch employers during any recruitment drive.”
Ms Wood, who once worked at the Bosch plant in Miskin, added: “The site is modern, has excellent transport links and will hopefully be used to its full capacity by Renishaw once they establish in Miskin after October.”
