The ‘Tabernacle Collection’ at Oriel Pendeitsh, Caernarfon

Oriel Pendeitsh, Caernarfon will be showing a selection of paintings and drawings from the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) Wales, Machynlleth.

The ‘Tabernacle Collection’ includes works by artists from 1900 onwards with the emphasis on artists living or working in Wales.

From July 2 until 11 September 2011, Oriel Pendeitsh with exhibit a small selection of artworks which give a taste of the diversity within this significant permanent collection. Amongst them are works by William Selwyn, Aneurin Jones, David Woodford, Eleri Mills, Ogwyn Davies, Roger Cecil and other leading artists.

Delyth Gordon, Visual Art Officer for Gwynedd Council who has worked with MOMA Wales to bring this selection together, said:

“The exhibition includes a rich diversity of modern Welsh art – there are landscape, portrait, narrative and abstract works on show. I hope that many will visit to enjoy this varied range of work which is part of the Tabernacle Collection.”

Oriel Pendeitsh, Caernarfon is open seven-days-a-week, between 10am and 4pm. Entry is free.
