Council appoints new head of adult services

Denbighshire County Council has appointed Phil Gilroy as its new Head of Adult Services.

Phil is currently Head of Adult Services for Wrexham County Borough Council and previously worked in Wirral where he held management roles in Adult Services, Business Services and Children’s Services.

He will join the Council in October.

Councillor Pauline Dobb, Cabinet Lead Member for Social Care, Health and Well-being, said: “We are delighted to announce Phil’s appointment.  He is a well-known and respected figure in social services circles in North Wales and he will bring with him a wealth of experience and a clear understanding of the needs of adults across our county.

“As residents in Denbighshire are now living longer, there will be a greater demand on the Council’s social services.  The Council has made it a priority to respond to demographic change by looking at more innovative ways of delivering services that people want in the way that people want.

“This is a really exciting time for Phil to be joining the service and we look forward to further developing the quality services that exist for adults in Denbighshire.”
