Breeders Crown

The 2011 Breeders Crown is coming to Neath Port Talbot. The prestigious event will be held at The Amman Valley Trotting Track, Tairgwaith, attracting competitors and visitors from around the world.

Harness racing has been in existence for over 100 years. Established in 1980 and definitely not for the faint hearted, the Amman Valley Trotting Track is one of only four hard tracks in the UK. Last year the Amman Valley saw a new Track, British and World record set by the Irish owned Doonbeg in the S4C Crock of Gold race.

The Breeders Crown is the highest rewarded series held in the UK with over £30,000 in prize money being paid over the 2 days.

The event will start at 7pm on Saturday 30th July and will feature the heats along with hospitality options, fun casino and live music from No Salad (previously known as A Working Progress). Racing will start at 7pm and the finals will run on Sunday 31st July starting at 2pm, followed by the presentations.

Neath Port Talbot Leader Cllr Ali Thomas said ‘This is a wonderful opportunity for the Amman Valley Trotting Club and Neath Port Talbot as a whole. There will be many businesses that will benefit from such an event across the County Borough. It will be an exciting weekend for all involved. I have attended many of these events in the past and found them to be extremely enjoyable. It is held in a beautiful part of our County Borough with some of the most panoramic views one could wish to see. It is certainly a different and exciting way to have fun.’

Tickets are now on sale for the event, for more information or ticket sales please contact 07909 698309, or visit www.ammanvalleytrotting.co.uk
