Ramsay: Labour “complacent” over financial impact of strike

The Shadow Minister for Finance has accused the Business Minister of “complacency” over the impact of the recent public sector strike.

During Questions to the Minister on Tuesday July 5th, Nick Ramsay AM asked for a statement regarding the strike’s financial implications on the running of the Assembly.

Mr Ramsay said: “The Business Minister’s response to my question showed utter complacency over what is a very serious issue.

“Her refusal to consider a statement – or a debate – on the impact of the strike is both worrying and careless.

Jane Hutt’s party did not agree with the action and I would not expect her to sweep any monetary repercussions under the carpet.

“We need to know the financial impact of the action on June 30th and I believe it is more than appropriate for the Minister to bring forward a statement on the issue.”
