Angling enthusiasts will be lining the shores of lakes in Llansamlet this month with the return of the annual Swansea Angling Festival.
The weekend-long event takes place on July 16 and 17 at Fendrod Lake and the Half Round Pond.
The event is open to anyone with an interest in angling, regardless of ability and is made up of a senior and a junior competition.
The junior competition kicks off on Saturday 16 July at the Half Round Pond in Llansamlet. The draw commences at 9.45am and the fishing will take place between 10.15am and 1.15pm.
The senior competition takes place on Sunday 17 July at the Fendrod Lake in Llansamlet. The draw commences at 9.00am and casts off between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
Christine Johns, Swansea Council’s Parks Lettings and Foreshore Manager, said: “The competition always attracts a number of angling enthusiasts of all abilities every year.”
“We have got some excellent cash prizes on offer again this year, so whether you’re an expert or a novice, you should give it a go.”
“If you don’t want to take part in the competition we welcome all spectators to come down to watch the competition.”
