Aberystwyth RNLI lifeboat launch to distressed person

Aberystwyth RNLI lifeboat was launched on Sunday 10th July 2011, following reports of a distressed person in the sea at North beach, Aberystwyth.

RNLI volunteer crew members were paged at 8.25pm, and launched the Atlantic 85 class inshore lifeboat Spirit of Friendship to assist the Coastguard and other emergency services who were already in attendance.

Sea conditions at the time were calm, with good visibility and the lifeboat quickly located the person who was helped from the water and returned to the beach where they were further assisted by ambulance personnel.
