The old county of Caernarfonshire is the host county of this year’s Royal Welsh Show and Gwynedd Council has a stall on the showground, in partnership with Conwy Council and Snowdonia National Park Authority.
The show is an important event in the Welsh calendar and attracts more than 230,000 people over four days and Gwynedd Council has a host of activities during the week.
Gwynedd Council Leader Councillor Dyfed Edwards said: “Gwynedd Council is delighted to be a part of the show. We hope that our stall reflects the show’s mission to be a shop window for Welsh rural life and all it has to offer – including agriculture, conservation, new business ventures, tourism and leisure.
“Our mission is to highlight what rural Gwynedd has to offer and how people can develop natural resources to make our communities viable and secure places to live.
“We have a packed itinerary of events on the stall including cooking demonstrations, workshops, information about business ventures and gardening demonstrations. There is plenty to keep the children occupied such as arts and craft, nature workshops and have a go at the Wii challenge.”
The centrepiece at the Gwynedd Council stall is a giant iron bull, kindly lent by Glasfryn Parc near Pwllheli. Visitors have a chance to guess its name for a chance to win a special prize. Visit the Gwynedd Council stall on the showground in the WLGA Pavillion, Avenue K, opposite the Young Farmers Building.
