Llandudno RNLI crew brings three to safety

Two adults and a teenager, visitors to Llandudno, were brought to safety by lifeboat today (Sunday 24 July) after walking out across offshore sandbanks and becoming marooned by the incoming tide flooding a channel behind them, thereby cutting them off from the shore.

Members of the public ashore saw the plight of the trio, who were clearly unaware of their potentially dangerous situation, and phoned Holyhead Coastguard, who in turn called out Llandudno’s inshore lifeboat.

Launching from the resort’s west shore at 1.35pm the lifeboat crew quickly brought the three to safety across the rapidly-flooding north deep channel, and handed them, unharmed into the care of Llandudno coastguards.
