St David’s RNLI lifeboat responds to two call outs

St David’s RNLI inshore lifeboat with its volunteer crew was called out on Sunday August 7, following a request from local RNLI lifeguards of a windsurfer who was in difficulties off Whitesands beach.

The lifeboat launched at 2.42pm and proceeded to Whitesands arriving alongside the windsurfer 5 minutes.

The windsurfer told the crew that he was confident of making his own way ashore.

The lifeboat stood by until he was safely ashore, where he was met by RNLI lifeguards and a local coastguard team.

While the lifeboat was making its way back to the station, a call came from coastguards of two missing children.

As the lifeboat was making its way back to Whitesands, the children were found safe and well.

The lifeboat then returned to station rehousing at 3.05pm.
