Council Tax payers in Flintshire will now find it easier to pay their Council Tax at Post Offices and Payzone outlets following the recent introduction of barcoded bills.
Council Tax bills are now issued with a unique barcode automatically that will allow customers to make Council Tax payments in the Post Office. Customers can also pay at any outlet displaying the ‘Payzone’ sign.
Customers just need to take their barcoded bill to any Post Office or Payzone outlet where the cashier will scan the bill, take their payment and issue a receipt.
Kerry Feather, Head of Finance at Flintshire County Council, said:
“Historically, customers have always needed to contact the Council to ask for a personalised payment card to pay at their local Post Office or Payzone outlet. The use of barcoded bills will mean that customers who want to pay at Post Offices or Payzone outlets can do so automatically without needing to contact the Council to ask for a plastic payment card.”
The use of plastic payment cards for making Council Tax payments will gradually be phased out but the Council is keen to stress that customers who already have a plastic payment card will still be able to use their existing cards.
If customers wish to pay at their local Post Office or Payzone outlet, but do not currently have a plastic payment card or bar coded bill, please contact the Council Tax team on 01352 704848.
