County Councillor Liz Hacket Pain, Cabinet Member for Children & Young People said:

‘I am delighted with this further improvement in performance and would like to thank all those involved in achieving it, particularly teachers, parents and especially the young people who sat their GCSE’s this summer.  I am aware that these results will increase the range of choices available to our young people and, as a result, numbers within our 6th forms will continue to grow.’

Andrew Keep, Chief Officer for Children & Young People added:

‘I would like to pass on my congratulations to this cohort of Monmouthshire students for the success they have achieved.  They will know the debt that they owe to the staff who have worked alongside them during the past two years and I would like to thank them in particular for their contribution to these pleasing results.’
