There is a unique opportunity for people to learn more about the treasure trove of historical documents and artefacts at Caernarfon Archives.
Staff at Caernarfon Archives will be holding taster sessions on Saturday, 17 September where members of the public can have access to original items such as old documents and photos; learn how documents are repaired and stored and the chance to ask the staff about the collections housed at the archives.
The session will be a golden opportunity to see historical documents up close and to find out how people can make use of the archive service for research purposes.
Councillor Roy Owen, Gwynedd Council’s portfolio holder with responsibility for the archives, said:
“I would urge anyone who has an interest in local history to take part in the taster sessions.
“People’s passion for history is relentless, as more of us than ever before decide to trace our family trees or feel the need to find out more about local history. This day could be very useful to learn about the different documents held at the archive and to find out how to make the best use of the facility.
“It is also a unique opportunity to learn about the day to day work of the staff.”
