Cardiff International White Water joins the Cardiff Festival for the first time this year to host Paddle Fest on September 3.
The event will give visitors a chance to try all things paddle sport for the very first time with the canoe and kayak ‘come and try it’ sessions.
They can also try out the latest boats and Stand Up Paddle Boarding; a favorite keep fit activity for celebrities. All water activities incur a charge and are available to pre book by calling 029 2082 9970.
The series of demos and races throughout the day, including British Raft Series and the Dirty Dog Demolition Duckie Derby, will also offer great white water action for everyone to watch and enjoy.
Experienced paddlers are catered for with an opportunity to get advice and guidance, plus a chance to look at new kit. They can also try the white water with the £10 Park and Play sessions.
Doors open at 9am and the pumps will be running all day until 4.30pm, with variable river flows to suit all paddlers. Evening visitors to CIWW can also enjoy a BBQ and live music from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Executive Member for Sport, Culture and Leisure, Cllr Nigel Howells, said: “Paddle Fest is a great new event joining the Cardiff Festival programme. The event is a great family day out and provides the perfect introduction to Cardiff International White Water.”
