Ice dancing duo Josh Whidborne and Charlotte Aiken who train at Flintshire County Council’s Deeside Leisure Centre Ice Rink, have become the British Junior Ice Dance Champions.
They won the title at Sheffield Ice Arena last week, having already become Welsh Junior Ice Dance Champions at an event at Deeside Ice Rink recently.
Josh and Charlotte moved to Flintshire earlier this year so that they could use the excellent facilities at the Ice Rink
in Queensferry.
They can be seen training there every week day morning and are coached by Olympic coach and former British and World Professional Ice Dance Champion Joan Slater, MBE.
Leisure Centre Manager, Mike Welsh, said: “Well done to Josh and Charlotte for becoming national champions. We are delighted that they have chosen to use our facilities here at Deeside. We wish them every success in the future.”
