Denbighshire County Council has published a statutory notice regarding proposals to amalgamate an Infant school and Junior school in Denbigh.
The council is proposing to close Ysgol Gwaenynog and Ysgol Heulfre from 31 August 2012 and to establish a new community primary school for boys and girls aged 3-11 years. The new school would incorporate the buildings of the existing schools on their sites at Gwaenynog Road.
It is proposed that the new school would open from 1 September 2012.
Any objections to these proposals must be made in writing to: Corporate Director- Learning and Communities, Denbighshire County Council, County Hall, Wynnstay Road, Ruthin, LL15 1YN by 8 October.
If any objections are received, then the matter must be decided by the Welsh Government. If no objections are received, then the matter will be decided by Denbighshire County Council.
