Commenting on the decision of the University of Wales to stop awarding degrees at many Welsh institutions and overseas, Angela Burns AM, Shadow Minister for Education, said:
“This is a shock decision, which will stun students, lecturers and the entire Higher Education sector.
“This will come as a disappointment to current students and graduates of the University of Wales, who will fear the end of a respected and cherished international brand, which has sadly been tarnished by a failure to effectively regulate its operations overseas.”
