Once again Martyn Geraint and Friends are on their travels around Wales with a deliciously delightful new performance of the classic tale of Hansel and Gretel, Martyn Geraint a’r Losin Hud. (Martyn Geraint and the Magic Sweets).
This year has indeed see many exciting changes including a 19 venue tour for Primary school children, but also evening family shows all through the medium of Welsh.
Martyn Geraint a’r Losin Hud follows the tale of siblings Hansel and Gretel who try and escape the evil clutches of the wicked old lady who wants to keep them in the woods. Enter their trusty friend Martyn, who with the help of his new friends, the audience, will try to save the day. If he’s lucky, he might also get the girl of his dreams.
Martyn Geraint is well known for his perfomances on S4C’s children’s programmes; Cegin Twts, Planed Plant and Cyw and is joined this year by a new and talented cast, some of whom are Wales’s most experienced actors. Familiar faces including Geraint Hardy from Planed Plant; Victoria Pugh from Theatre Clwyd and Elin Llwyd and Ieuan Rhys from Pobol y Cwm.
Martyn would like to thank the Co producers of this year’s show; Rhondda Cynon Taf Theatres and sponsors Arts Council of Wales‘s Arts Outside Cardiff Scheme, who have by supporting this venture enabled the company to develop and grow, something that is visibly present on stage thanks to set designer Guy O’Donnell’s magic touch.
“I believe that this is the best panto yet and the initial reaction from the audiences has been amazing,” Martyn said.
