Students’ new uniform takes flight

A professional attitude can be reflected in many things, including dress. That’s why a group of Coleg Gwent travel and tourism students have recently introduced a new uniform to their department.

Last year, travel and tourism students suggested the use of uniforms to bring the group together, encourage professional standards and introduce an identity to the department within the College.

The new style, which reflects those commonly found within the travel and tourism industry including neck ties and formal clothing, has been welcomed by current travel and tourism students.

“It’s a great idea, and looks fab,” said student Renee Davies. “We all look smarter and feel part of the travel and tourism industry as a whole.”

Crosskeys Campus Travel and Tourism Lecturer Andrew Williams said: “The uniform is a fantastic way for students to be recognised as a department within the College, but to also reflect standards in the industry.  We’re delighted to support the initiative, which came from students, and which shows professionalism and pride towards their work.”
