Budding authors in Flintshire had the opportunity to showcase their work and meet fellow writers at an evening held in Holywell Library recently.
Seven Flintshire writers’ groups took part in the event, where members of the groups gave readings of their work and took the chance to meet like-minded people from other parts of the county.
Councillor Nigel Steele-Mortimer, Executive Member for Education, said:
“It was wonderful to meet so many people in Flintshire with a passion for writing. The quality of their work was exceptional. 55 people came along to the evening, which also goes to show that writing doesn’t have to be a solitary activity!”
Flintshire Library and Information Service, which organised the evening, is sending a ‘Writers’ Showcase’ display of work from the groups around its larger branches, starting at Holywell Library, where it will be on show for the next few weeks.
