Ramsay: Welsh Government should respond swiftly to economy’s needs

Commenting on the latest meeting of the Council for Economic Renewal, Nick Ramsay AM, Shadow Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology & Science, said, “At a time of economic uncertainty, businesses and prospective investors need to see a proactive Welsh Government, which responds swiftly to the needs of our economy.

“Unfortunately, Welsh Ministers have been slow in bringing forward any substantive measures to encourage growth in the Welsh economy, which is already the poorest of all the UK nations.

“Welsh Conservatives have been calling for detailed proposals on the introduction of Enterprise Zones, a Council Tax freeze to support hard-pressed families and pensioners and cuts to business rates to help small businesses.

“Welsh Ministers need to provide security for businesses and potential investors by creating the conditions for economic growth in Wales.”
