Commenting on newspaper reports making allegations of rule-breaking at Welsh examination board, WJEC, Angela Burns AM, Shadow Minister for Education, said:
“These are shocking allegations, which raise yet more concerns about a lack of rigour in the education system in Wales.
“The Welsh education sector has been rocked by a series of recent scandals, doing untold damage to the reputation of our schools and universities, negatively impacting on the morale of teachers and hitting the confidence of parents and students.
“We need a thorough and urgent investigation into these serious allegations. The Minister should now consider a systematic review of processes in the education system to restore credibility to his crisis-hit department.”
