Commenting on the release of new figures which show the Welsh Government missed its 36 week waiting time target in October, Shadow Minister for Health Darren Millar AM, said:
“Month after month this target is missed. Month after month the government sits back and does nothing.
“For the last two months, the number of people waiting more than 36 weeks for treatment has remained stagnant. There’s been no improvement, despite the health minister’s promise to eliminate the problem and initiate sanctions against health boards which underperform
“Over six months ago a significant amount of money was invested in tackling this issue, yet there has been no significant progress.
“Patients and their families deserve to know how the Welsh Labour Government is working to put an end to long waits – and when it will happen.”
