Commenting on the contents of an exposed 2004 report into the All Wales Ethnic Minority Association, which warned the government to stop new public funding for the body, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the Assembly Andrew RT Davies AM, said:
“The fact that these warnings were received eight years ago is proof of the inaction we have highlighted on this serious issue.
“There are now some very sobering questions for the First Minister to deal with, not least why the recommendations in this report were completely ignored.
“I have already written to him expressing my concerns over transparency. Given the involvement of the CEO’s family in Labour political campaigning, the perception is of a party looking after its own. That’s an issue that should be urgently addressed.
“Despite the decision to publish the latest report on Thursday, just before the assembly heads into recess, it is absolutely critical that it receives the utmost scrutiny from assembly members across all political parties.”
