The S4C Authority has welcomed the Public Consultation on proposals to amend the Channel’s governance arrangements.
The Consultation is being run by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The Secretary of State announced in October 2010 the proposal to remove the Retail Price Index funding link for S4C. As a result, S4C’s funding will come principally from the television licence fee as part of a new partnership between S4C and the BBC Trust from 1 April 2013.
Huw Jones, Chairman of the S4C Authority, said, “We welcome the Public Consultation relating to elements of the new partnership between S4C and the BBC Trust. As an Authority we recommended holding a consultation and we want to see as many individuals and organisations responding.”
The closing date for responses is Friday 4 May 2012.
