Clwyd West AM Darren Millar is encouraging war veterans in Conwy and Denbighshire to take advantage of a fund which enables them to return to military sites.
The Heroes Return scheme funds World War 2 veterans to visit battlefields and wartime sites. The scheme, which is funded by the Big Lottery, will also allow spouses or carers to make a commemorative trip.
Darren, who Chairs the Cross Party Group on the Armed Forces and Cadets in the National Assembly, said:
“Heroes Return really is a wonderful scheme.
“Those who served during World War II will have many memories from their wartime experiences and I am pleased that veterans are being given the chance to commemorate their commitment.
“Veterans deserve our support and this scheme is something which helps to put them and their families in touch with those momentous events of decades ago.
“I’d encourage as many veterans as possible from Conwy and Denbighshire to apply.”
