Speaking on the anniversary of the referendum on law-making powers, Andrew RT Davies AM, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the National Assembly, said:
“The results of last year’s referendum promised a new age for Welsh politics – a new no-excuses culture where AMs had the tools to get on with the job.
“Supporters of a yes vote will be disappointed, one year on, that the Welsh Labour Government has yet to enact a single Welsh law using its new powers.
“Labour risks betraying the trust of voters by failing to deliver any Welsh laws.
“Labour’s inaction is holding Wales back. Labour Ministers need to stop whingeing and blaming others and start using the levers at their control to deliver improvements in our economy and public services.
“Welsh Conservatives were the only party to go into last year’s election with a programme for government – 11 Welsh Bills ready to be introduced.
“These address many of the problems facing Wales today including an Enterprise Bill aimed at making our economy more attractive to investors, a Public Health Bill to reduce health inequalities and an Educational Attainment Bill to tackle the widening gap between school standards in Wales and other parts of the UK.”
