Students at Cardiff will be leading a service of worship live on national radio this weekend (March 11).
The Chaplaincy of Cardiff University is taking BBC Radio 4’s Sunday Worship which will be broadcast live from Eglwys Dewi Sant in the heart of the city.
The preacher will be the Anglican chaplain of the University, Rev Dr Trystan Owain Hughes while the Methodist chaplain, Rev Delyth Liddell, will conduct the service. Students will lead the readings and prayers while the University’s Chamber Choir will provide the music.
The service is part of the Lent series on Sunday Worship, which began with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, preaching on the first Sunday of Lent.
Rev Dr Trystan Owain Hughes said, “It is a great honour and privilege to be preaching on BBC Radio 4 and I am delighted that the students of Cardiff University are getting the opportunity to take part on national radio. With the service going out live, and with around 1.8 million listeners, we are all a bit nervous, but very excited!”
The service begins at 8.10am.
