Spring Into Action with Guaranteed Price-for-Life Leisure Scheme

Don’t be an April fool is the message, as people are given the exciting opportunity to spring into an active lifestyle and take advantage of the lowest ever ‘Price for Life’ before the end of March.

Cardiff Council is offering customers a set price membership to leisure facilities across the city between now and March 31, 2012 before inflation comes into play from April 1, 2012.

The Price for Life promotion allows people to commit to paying the same price for their Active Leisure membership for as long as they remain members of the scheme.

By becoming a committed member, the Council is guaranteeing that the price will never increase and will remain the same every single year.

The initiative offers value for money to people who enjoy sport and leisure activities and can be up to 17 per cent cheaper than paying as you go for uncommitted users of the facilities.

The Active Card scheme provides great appeal for those wanting to get fit and improve their health and wellbeing, allowing access to 11 council leisure facilities throughout the city which boast amenities such as gyms, swimming pools, fitness classes, racquet sports, athletics and cycling.

Many council leisure facilities have undergone refurbishment recently, transforming centres into light, contemporary environments accessible to all members of the public. With all the very latest exercise equipment available, a team of highly qualified and experienced staff at each site will ensure everyone is given the support they need while they keep fit.

Executive Member for Sport, Culture and Leisure, Cllr Nigel Howells, said: “The Price for Life scheme is an excellent opportunity for those wishing to lead a healthy, active lifestyle to get the best value for money from their leisure membership.

“By committing to the scheme people can get the most for their money regardless of future price increases and by taking it up before April 1, 2012 they will avoid any increases.

“Cardiff boasts some fantastic leisure and sports facilities which are popular with communities all over the city. Regular attendance is great for meeting up with people as well as making new friends who share similar interests.”
