Wales v France Travel Advice

Wales take on France in their Grand Slam decider on Saturday at The Millennium Stadium.

Kick off is at 2.45pm and a crowd of 70,000 is expected at the game.

The best way to travel to the event is by public transport and coach wherever possible. Those bringing their cars into the city can ease worries over congestion and parking costs by using the Council’s park and ride service

Park and ride is available at Cardiff City stadium (CF11 8AZ) the cost is £6 per car and can be accessed from J33 of the M4.

The drop off point in the city centre will be Tresillian Way North.

The car park will open at 9:00am, with the first bus at 9.30am. The last bus will leave the pick-up point at 7.00pm, with the car park closing at 7:30pm.

Coach parking will be provided off Sophia Close – there are dedicated coach parking areas with driver facilities. The cost is £10 per coach. Any event car parking in Sophia Close will also be £10 as the car park is within a five minute walk of the stadium.

There will be a full road closure from 12.45-5.45pm.

Kingsway from its junction with North Rd / Boulevard de Nantes to its junction with Duke St.

Cowbridge Road East from its junction with Cathedral Rd to its junction with Westgate St.

Tudor St from its junction with Clare Rd to its junction with Wood St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)

Plantagenet St & Beauchamp St from their junctions with Despenser Place to their junctions with Tudor St (access for residents & traders will be permitted)

The following roads will be closed in their entirety – should read – Duke St, Castle St, High St, St Mary St, Caroline St, Wood St, Central Sq, Westgate St, Quay St, Guildhall Pl, Golate, Park St, Havelock St & Scott Rd.

Luggage can be left at the Tourist Information Centre in the Old Library for all home 6 Nations matches:

Small lockers £3, large lockers £5 and extra large lockers £7, plus £3 deposit for token / keys issued.
