Commenting on figures showing that the Welsh Government’s four hour Accident & Emergency waiting time target has not been met for the 30th consecutive month, Darren Millar AM, Shadow Minister for Health, said:
“The Welsh Labour Government’s target that no patient should wait more than four hours in A&E has been missed every month for two and a half years.
“Excessive waits in A&E departments cause considerable distress to patients, especially young children, older people and the chronically ill.
“Labour Ministers need to stop passing the buck to Local Health Boards, answer for their record-breaking cuts to the Welsh NHS and start taking clear steps to reducing waiting times.”
