Following significant improvement works undertaken in Bangor and Caernarfon which are in their final phases, Gwynedd Council and national charity Action for Market Towns are currently asking members of the public to have their say on the town centres.
The aim of the survey is to allow interested parties to voice their opinions on Caernarfon and Bangor’s centres in terms of shopping, cleanliness and general views of the area.
Dafydd Williams, Gwynedd Council Chief Engineer Transportation and Street Care said:
“Work is now nearing completion on the £2.4 million improvements in Caernarfon and the major work in Bangor’s city centre area worth £3.5 million is also in its final phase. We hope that these improvements will help to encourage more people to visit both destinations.
“This survey which is being carried out with charity Action for Market Towns will be used as a guide to help develop initiatives and schemes to the benefit of those who work, visit and shop in these areas. We would therefore urge those who are regular visitors to Caernarfon or Bangor or even if you don’t often visit, to have your say on both centres.”

The town centre improvements project is funded through the Welsh Government’s £38 million North Wales Regeneration Scheme delivered in partnership with Councils and is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the European Union’s Convergence programme and the Welsh Government’s Mon Menai Regeneration Area Initiative.
