Abergavenny Library to celebrate World Book Night with award winning performance poet

Abergavenny Library is to mark World Book Night in style – starting at 7pm on Monday 23rd April – with readings, refreshments, free copies of this year’s World Book Night titles and, by popular demand, the return of award winning performance poet Mab Jones to entertain with her own special brand of humorous verse.

Mab, a Cardiff-born poet, comic, writer, and performer, is a performer who places emphasis on entertainment and audience enjoyment.  She won the John Tripp Spoken Poetry Audience Award in 2008 and has also been a finalist or semi-finalist in the UK SLAM! Championships, the BBC Radio 4 National Poetry Slam, the annual Funny Women awards, and was Literary Mention of the Year 2010 on the Welsh Icons website.  She received an Academi bursary in 2007 and was Write Out Loud’s Poet of the Month in May 2010.

Tickets and further details are available from Abergavenny Library.  Telephone 01873 735980 or e-mail [email protected]
