Children, footballers and dog walkers are amongst the beneficiaries of improvements which are underway on parks in Kinmel Bay.
The improvements, which include fencing to create dog exercise areas, doggy-bins, the erection of goalposts and investment in footpaths are being funded by Towyn and Kinmel Bay Town Council, in response to requests from local residents.
Kinmel Bay town and county borough Councillors John Bevan and Geoff Corry visited Clwyd Park this week to inspect the improvements with Clwyd West AM Darren Millar. Following the visit, Darren said:
‘I’m pleased that the town council responded so positively to the requests from local residents and it was great to see children making use of the new goal posts during the visit.
‘Local parks are important facilities for the communities they serve and it is important that as many people as possible are able to enjoy them.
‘The recent introduction of Dog Control Orders by Conwy County Borough Council was upsetting for many responsible dog owners who regularly exercised their dogs on parks in Kinmel Bay so the creation of off lead exercise areas is a very welcome move and the new dog bins will ensure that there can be no excuses for owners picking up after their pets.’
