Get ready for your funny bones to be tickled next week when the Cardiff Comedy Festival starts in the city.
Now in its third year the Cardiff Comedy Festival continues to attract top comedians including Rhod Gilbert, Russell Kane and this year Omid Djalili will be taking to the stage.
As part of the Festival, Cardiff Central Library will once more host Laughing Ma tytters.
‘Laughing Matters’ is a series of workshops at the library that anyone over the age of fourteen can attend. Those who attend the workshops will need to be ready to put a smile on peoples face and bring along a funny story that is original, or their own joke or just talk about three subjects that they find funny, it can be anything from Apples to Zebras!
The workshops will take place between 16 – 21 July and are free.
Attendees will attend one of the workshop dates and will have an opportunity to take part in the stand up gig that will take place on Saturday 21 July.
Executive Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, Cllr Julia Magill , said: “The comedy festival has been taking place in the city for the past three years and continues to bring top international comedians to the heart of the city. Alongside this it nurtures new comedy talent.”

The Laughing matters workshops are just one of the events taking place as part of this years Cardiff Comedy Festival. There will be previews from Mark Little, Lucy Porter, Nick Helm, Richard Herring & Patrick Monahon.
Everything draws to a tumultuous climax at St David’s Hall with superstar Omid Djalili headlining our Grand Gala Finale at St David’s Hall on July 29.
