Deputy Chief Constable Visits Powys

Deputy Chief ConstableDyfed-Powys Police Deputy Chief Constable Jackie Roberts visited the Powys Division and dropped into both Brecon and Llandrindod Wells Police Stations.

Following a meet and greet with the Powys Command Team at Brecon, DCC Roberts, was introduced to members of staff in the Powys Customer Service Unit (CSU) and the Professional Development Unit.

After Brecon, Ms Roberts visited The Gwalia in Llandrindod Wells and met John Thomas, who operates the Powys County Council Customer Services Unit. This was followed by a visit to Llandrindod Wells Police Station and a tour hosted by A/Inspector Darren Brown.

DCC Roberts was impressed with the facilities and the staff she met during her visit. She said: “It’s important to visit the Force’s Police Stations and see our Officers and Staff working in the field – and is a great reminder of the significant and diverse work we do.

“Observing the CSUs in the County Council and our organisation highlighted the similarities in the way we work, which can only be beneficial to enhance and develop partnership working.”

Powys Superintendent Huw Meredith added: “It was great to welcome DCC Roberts as it provided us with the opportunity to showcase our facilities and staff. I am very proud of the Police Officers and Police Staff who work in Powys, who work in sometimes challenging circumstances and deliver a professional service.”
