For the young and brave there are some spooky happenings and strange goings – on at the Castle this half term holiday.

The line-up of family events includes some face–to-face encounters with real creepy crawlies, spiders, scorpions and snakes to name but a few, Hallowe’en arts activities and a themed trail around the grounds. A ghosts and ghouls parade will give everyone the chance to show off their amazing Hallowe’en costume creations, plus spooky stories and for those that dare – a visit to corners of the Castle where people rarely go!

And for the first time ever, the Undercroft is converted into a Gothic cinema for a special children’s matinee screening of ‘Hotel Transylvania’. The evening showing of ‘Dracula’ has already sold out. For further information on other screenings visit www.chapter.org

By day, Cardiff Castle is one of Wales’ busiest and most popular heritage attractions. By night, the Castle is silent and dark, where stories of strange sightings and inexplicable creeks and sounds abound.  The first ever Cardiff Castle Ghost Tour sold out in hours and extra dates have been added. Cabinet Member of Sport, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Ramesh Patel said: “Cardiff Castle is a superb setting for any Hallowe’en event with its atmospheric rooms, grounds and tunnels. The addition to the programme of film screenings and ghost tours is particularly exciting. It looks set to be a jam-packed half-term holiday.”
