Bargoed town centre is counting down to Christmas and shoppers looking for a festive bargain can take advantage of a wide range of retail outlets offering a good choice of gift ideas.
Bargoed is experiencing a major makeover at the moment, but the town is still very much open for business as the exciting regeneration works are underway.
To encourage more shoppers in the run up to the festive season, 140 free car parking spaces are now available in the southern part of the town centre following the restoration of the car park near the new retail plateau. The first 2 hours parking is also free at the Emporium and St Gwladys car parks until after Christmas.
Cllr Ron Davies, CCBC cabinet member for regeneration, said, “We would encourage everyone to support their local town centres and give the local economy a boost this Christmas. Towns like Bargoed, Blackwood and Caerphilly offer choice and convenience to shoppers with a good mix of independent and national stores. Let’s do our bit to lift the current economic gloom and give our town centres something to cheer about this festive season.”
Bargoed town centre has over 140 retail outlets, including a mixture of national chains – such as Burtons, Dorothy Perkins and Peacocks – which are complimented by a mix of smaller independent traders, financial services and cafes.
