Swansea Council’s gritting teams are set to be out if the cold snap continues to bite. The priority will be to grit main roads. The latest information is:
- All pre-salted routes are open and safe
- Most side streets that are sheltered from the sun are still very icy
- The Council is responding to urgent requests where it can. However salt stocks are being prioritised for primary routes.
The road temperatures for the coming week are not expected to rise above zero and may reach lows of -10 0 c. It is therefore likely that most areas that are icy will remain so for the whole week.
If anyone wishes to report a problem with their road or street during the severe weather you should telephone 0800 132081.
