Pre Christmas campaigns including anti-drink drive activity and personal safety tips contributed to a peaceful Christmas and New Year in North Flintshire.
Police figures reveal a 28% drop in reported crimes over the holidays compared with the same period last year.
Inspector Dave Roome believes high profile campaigns in the run up to festive season have had a positive effect with most of the 33 recorded crimes being for minor offences.
He said: “It is reassuring to see that people have taken a responsible approach to the Christmas and New Year celebrations this year.
“Although 33 crimes were reported across the whole of North Flintshire District, the vast majority were for minor offences. We can only hope the quiet start to the year continues.”
Results of North Wales Police Christmas drink drive campaign are expected to be released in the next couple of weeks.
