Members of the public may have seen the recent national coverage of the Policing Pledge. The Policing Pledge comprises 10 promises that each Police Force across England and Wales has committed to deliver to the public. These promises underpin a commitment by the Police to deliver an efficient and responsive service whilst treating the public with dignity and respect.
On Thursday 17th December, Dyfed-Powys Police Authority held its quarterly meeting. The Police Authority considered a number of items at the meeting that will ensure that the public receive the best possible policing service in Dyfed-Powys.
At the meeting, the Police Authority resolved to put in place an action plan to ensure that the Police Force continues to meet the requirements set out within the Policing Pledge.
The new Police Authority action plan will monitor the Force’s performance against each of the 10 promises and work jointly with the Force to identify any areas for improvement in the future. Members of the public can access information on how the Force is performing against each of the points within the Policing Pledge on the Authority’s website at www.dyfedpowyspoliceauthority.co.uk.

“The Police Authority has a key role to ensure that the public receives the best possible service in Dyfed-Powys. We are made up of 19 Members who represent the interests of the public.
I am delighted to be able to announce our plans in relation to our future scrutiny of the delivery of the Policing Pledge. It is through initiatives such as this that we can hold the Police Force to account and ensure that you the public receive the best from your Council Tax contributions.
In times of economic uncertainty, it is particularly critical that the Police Authority adds value to policing on a local level and ensures that value for money is achieved.”
