Assembly Member Lesley Griffiths has welcomed the Welsh Government’s stance and continued support for the former Remploy employees in Wrexham.
The Welsh Government has vowed to take action after the closure of Enterprising Employment, a firm which reemployed many former Remploy workers, has resulted in staff losing their jobs for the second time in 18 months.
When the UK Government announced the closure of Remploy factories the Welsh Government responded by setting up the £2.4m Employer Support Grant.
This scheme was designed to offer financial support for employers looking to provide work to eligible disabled Remploy workers and so far almost 200 former employees have started new jobs across Wales.
