Last night saw the inaugural meeting (if you ignore Bloggers in the Pub, Bloggers in the Pub Revisited etc) of Cardiff Bloggers.
Organised by Media Wales, the Trinity Mirror owned group which publishes the South Wales Echo and the Western Mail. Bloggers and potential bloggers, both young an old gathered in Pica Pica in Cardiff’s Westgate Street.
James Cuff, the ‘Web Wizard’ behind the blog sections on the Media Wales’ web site gave a presentation on how to setup a blog using the tools currently available.
Hannah Waldram, Guardian beatblogger for Cardiff, and Ed Walker, Media Wales online communities editor attended the event along with journalism students from Cardiff University.
Interestingly both CardiffBlogger and Cardiff_Blogger were both in attendance as was Uncle Wilco, the man behind the legendary Shed Blog.
The evening was sponsored by Cardiff’s Warwick Emanuel PR & Film (WEPR) but unfortunately, I missed the chance of a free drink and I’m still recovering from having to pay £4 for a pint of Heiniken!
A most enjoyable evening that shows that the Welsh blogosphere is in a very healthy state.
