A campaign to promote Neath Port Talbot as a greener place to live is top of the agenda this week.
To coincide with Wales Sustainability Week, the climate change team at Neath Port Talbot Council is highlighting the work being done to make the county borough more sustainable.
The ‘Greener Campaign’ aims to educate everyone about environmental issues and to promote things residents can do in their communities to make Neath Port Talbot a greener place to live.
“Plans are in the pipeline for environmental advisors to attend events, give talks to groups and schools and to take part in other activities that will help to spread the message about looking after the environment,” says Council Leader Ali Thomas.
“Making small changes to everyday habits such as recycling rubbish, using less energy, using sustainable transport and walking and cycling, can make a big difference to the local environment,” he added.
A new website www.npt.gov.uk/greener has been set up where information can be found on what the council is doing, what residents can do to play their part and what events are being planned.
