A primary school teacher and author from Llanelli has had her second children’s book published.
Michelle Thomas wrote ‘Bubble World and the Olympics’ which follows the success of ‘Bubble World and the Enchanted Garden’. The books tell the story of Polly Popsickle, an ordinary girl, with an EXTRAORDINARY talent. Polly loves bubblegum and can blow the biggest, largest bubbles, bubbles so huge that she is actually able to fit inside them.
Once inside she floats away to Bubble World where she has adventures. Bubble World and the Olympics is set at the school’s sports day, but with the help of Polly’s amazing talent she floats away from school and ends up at the London Olympics. Does she win gold- you’ll have to read the book to find out!
Michelle commented, “I am hoping with the London 2012 Olymics just around the corner that this book will do very well. I have had an amazing response from the children at school I have read the books to. Parents have also been very supportive, saying how much their children have enjoyed my books.”
Momentum for the books is growing as Michelle has appeared as a guest on Jamie Owen’s Radio Wales morning show to discuss her books. As well as that, she is carrying out book signings at various Smiths stores over the next few weeks.
She said, “I enjoy the signings as it’s a chance for me to meet both adults and children who buy my books. I love to hear the feedback from the readers and I have had wonderful comments from those people I have met.”
The next signing is at Swansea WHSmiths on Sat 24th March and then Wed 11th April at WHSmiths Carmarthen. She is also working on creating a webpage for her books which will be ready to view very soon.
The books are available to purchase in WHSmiths stores in Cardiff, Swansea and Carmarthen, or online at www.gwales.com or authorhouse.co.uk
