There are plenty of opportunities for children and young people to get active with Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Sport and Leisure Team this summer.
Sport Caerphilly, the council’s Sport Development Team, will be encouraging children to try their hand at lots of new sports at a number of different sport schemes across the county borough.
Caerphilly, Risca, Newbridge and Heolddu Leisure Centres will all play host to Sport Caerphilly Summer Sport Schemes, which can be booked in advance by calling the relevant Leisure Centre.
Thanks to Llanbradach and Pwll-Y-Pant Community Council and Rhymney Community Council, Sport Caerphilly are also able to offer FREE sporting opportunities to children from these areas.
The sport schemes will feature activities to suit all abilities, with Football, Cricket, Tennis and Athletics to name just a few.
There is also a Disability Summer of Sport for disabled children and their siblings/friends. As well as the opportunity to try their hand at sport there will also be trips to take part in outdoor activities such as climbing, canoeing, surfing and orienteering.
This summer young people can also access FREE public swim sessions at all Caerphilly county borough swimming pools. There will also be FREE aquatic activities on offer at Leisure Centres, including water polo, rookie lifeguard, water walkers and canoeing. These activities require booking by calling the relevant Leisure Centre.
Visit your.caerphilly.gov.uk/leisurelifestyle for contact details of all the county borough Leisure Centres. Free aquatic activities may vary depending on the Leisure Centre.
