Bridgend County Borough is preparing to welcome the Ospreys and the Leicester Tigers for their forthcoming game at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field on Friday 12 November.
With kick-off set for 7.45pm, the historic match will pitch the Ospreys against reigning English champions Leicester Tigers for an LV=Cup fixture.
Councillor Mel Nott, Leader of Bridgend County Borough Council, said: “As a keen rugby fan, I am delighted to be able to welcome the Ospreys and the Tigers to Bridgend County Borough.
“It is a privilege for the area to play host to such an important event in the rugby world and I am sure that local residents will come and support the game on Friday 12 November.”
David Rees, Managing Director of Bridgend RFC, said: “Everybody involved with Bridgend RFC is really looking forward to what promises to be a wonderful occasion. We have a tremendous facility at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field, and it makes a fitting venue for a game like the Ospreys against Leicester Tigers.
“We are very proud of our association with the Ospreys and are delighted to get the opportunity to stage the match here, which hopefully will be the first of many regular visits to Bridgend for the team. To have them here is a fantastic boost for the whole of the county as the eyes of the rugby world will be firmly on Bridgend on Friday evening.
“Tickets are going well and there will be a good crowd there to generate a fantastic atmosphere, ensuring that the night will be a roaring success.”
