A4119 Williamstown Safety Works

Work begins on a new safety scheme on the A4119 next week, as part of the ongoing delivery of Williamstown Primary School.

A new puffin controlled pedestrian crossing is to be installed on the road south of the Dinas Isaf Industrial Estate roundabout to facilitate safe crossing to the Penrhiwfer Community Campus.

The important work will also include the reduction of the speed limit to 40mph at the approach to the crossing from both directions

While the work, set to begin week commencing, July 11 and lasting up to six weeks, will cause some temporary inconvenience to users of the A4119, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and contractor Costain, which is delivering the scheme, hope residents will appreciate the wider benefit to the community.

Temporary traffic management measures will be in place for the duration of the works and all motorists and pedestrians are urged to take extra care on the road as the works are delivered.
