Aberavon MP Dr Hywel Francis has welcomed yesterday’s decision by Transport Minister Mrs Edwina Hart to bring forward alternative proposals relating to junction 41 of the M4 at Port Talbot, which take into account the concerns expressed by local residents and businesses.
Dr Francis said:
“I welcome the way in which the Minister Mrs Hart has responded positively to the reasonable representations of the people of Port Talbot. “Assembly Member David Rees has worked hard behind the scenes to achieve this and I thank him, the local Chamber of Trade, Aberavon Labour, Father Nigel Cahill and of course Councillor Ali Thomas who led on the negotiations.
“Most of all, I salute the good people of Port Talbot who have shown that people power works. We must all continue to be vigilant and monitor closely progress over the coming months”.
