Victims of the Holocaust were remembered in Abergele this week at an exhibition attended by local youngsters and councillors.

The exhibition held at ITACA was opened by Clwyd West AM Darren Millar.
Darren said:

“It was a privilege to open the Holocaust Memorial Exhibition which is providing people of Abergele with an opportunity to learn more about the Holocaust and the lessons that it can teach us, as well as honouring the survivors and victims of the inhuman regime which pursued such horrific policy.

“I commend Barbara Fraser for organising the exhibition to coincide with Holocaust Memorial Day, which takes places every year on January 27th to allow people to remember the millions of people killed in the Holocaust, Nazi Persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.”

At the opening of the exhibition Darren was presented with a menorah,  an multi-branched candleholder lit during the Jewish festival of Hanukkah, by Laura Blank, who is a member of the local Jewish community.
